The sinking sun cast a golden glow over the retreat participants as they emerged from a hike through the forest onto a viewpoint overlooking the expansive waters of the Strait of Georgia. Greeted by the stunning, panoramic vista, they were equally taken aback by another pleasant surprise.
Set out in the natural surroundings were all the trappings for an exclusive bush party. White tablecloths, uniformed waiters, champagne glasses—everything was in place to perfectly cap a successful two days of corporate team building in British Columbia’s wilderness.
For us at Exposure Travel, “sundowners” (sunset cocktails) at the end of an “adventure” are a bit of a tradition. On this occasion, personalized beers with the company’s corporate logo demonstrated the attention to detail and imaginative flair that is our signature.
When Farmboy Fine Arts, a west coast art and design company, needed an inspiring meeting experience that would balance work with play time, we knew some west coast “glamping” (glamorous camping) would fit the bill. This creative idea gave the retreat panache and made this a must-attend event.
At a remote resort retreat on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, participants stayed in roomy, fully serviced, lavish canvas tents set amidst Arbutus trees overlooking the Pacific Ocean - a venue offering true luxury in the wild.
Exposure saw to all the details on this all-inclusive getaway, leaving Farmboy to focus on its own agenda. Our BC travel guides organized several activities to aid corporate team building. One was a nature walk led by an expert naturalist who pointed out all the fascinating local plant and animal life.
Meetings were underpinned with audiovisuals that ensured the corporate message was as inspiring as the surroundings. At the sundown send-off, retreat participants received personalized cedar tree saplings to symbolize Farmboy as a growing company and also reduce the trip’s carbon footprint.
Being in BC’s wilderness is inspiring, no question. When you get away from the everyday, you relate to others in a different way. Fresh air and outdoor activities can generate fresh ways of thinking. And this was surely the case for Farmboy Fine Arts.
